There are endless messages out there about climate change and it’s hard to connect them to your own local experience. The different lettered signs represent all of that noise, but instead cut through with each installation focused on a single, clear message and a specific action people can take to educate themselves and prepare.
I developed the project with Artworks Trenton, The Watershed Institute, NJ DEP, and the New Jersey State Council On The Arts, and installed the public art structures in the South River Park in Trenton, NJ next to the Delaware river (a high-risk flood zone).
ADDITIONAL FACTS:
The majority of the signs are reclaimed from decommissioned street signs.
The main messages are hand-painted by me.
There are 3 structures with 3 messages that provoke action, each in English and Spanish.
